I finally called the framer to get some stuff properly framed. There's a water color that asimplechord brought back from Italy years ago; it was in a store-bought frame that has given up the ghost. When I moved, the most noticeable thing for me was the volume of framed things (photos, prints, etc.) I had hanging in a really small house.  Several people actually commented on it. My excuse, mostly, is that I buy inexpensive prints or sketches when I travel so I have long-term souvenirs or reminders of my travel.

Apparently, even though I do all my banking online, I cannot change my account's address online.  It must be done in person.  And at my assigned branch.  How did that branch get assigned to me? Since Beth asked, some very bad photos are under the cut.  They were taken with my phone; my actual camera appears not to have survived the move.  Well, I'm hoping new batteries will revive it, but we'll have to wait and see.

+  Settlement went well.  The condo is mine (and the bank's, of course).  And I'm mostly unpacked.  The only things left to unpack are boxes of books.  But since I'm out of shelf space at the moment, there's no point to it.  I'm also waiting for a key to the storage rooms -- the keys I got at settlement open the storage room on the wrong floor ( ( Read more... )

My little house is no longer mine. It looked forlorn yesterday after the moving van was filled,  oddly smaller. With all my worldly goods packed and held elsewhere, I am adrift for a day.It is strange.

To the new place tomorrow, if all goes as scheduled (fingers crossed).

?  The gym as a place to pick people up -- really?  Okay, look, any place is good for that, you never know who you'll meet, when or where.  But seriously...at the gym?  After sweating through your clothes, hair soaked with sweat, huffing and puffing from the effort?  At that point, I'm just trying to get through that one last set with my pathetic ( Read more... )
